O. Henry Project

Welcome to our website!

This is our project for a class in Digital Humanities at the University of Pittsburgh. The O. Henry Project uses several computing programs (XML and CSS) to study the Korean translations of O. Henry's short stories. We are focusing on the use of honorific forms in each Korean translation in comparison with the presence/absence of formal or informal characteristics in English. Through the use of these programs, we will be able to have better insight into sociolinguistic aspects of Korean/English texts.
